Retaining walls

A retaining wall turns a slope you can't use into flat, usable yard, and stops soil from washing out every time it storms. The block you see is the easy part. What makes a wall last is what's behind and under it: a solid base, drainage and compaction.

Questions people ask

Why do retaining walls fail?

Most failures come from water pressure behind the wall, a weak base, or poor compaction. That's why we build in drainage and compact in layers.

Do I need a permit for a retaining wall?

It depends on the wall's height and location. We'll let you know during the walk-through and handle what's needed.

How much does a retaining wall cost?

Cost depends on length, height, block choice, access and drainage needs. You'll get a free, line-by-line estimate after we see the site.

Can you replace an old timber wall?

Yes. We remove the failing wall, haul it away and build a new block wall with proper drainage.
